Our FRIEND and Caretaker of our pets
Once in a while, and more often than not, everyone who has pets knows how very important it is to have someone trustworthy to look after "ones babies". We have been so lucky to have such a great help in a friend living just near by. His name is Topi Anttonen and he has a great touch with all animals. He started to look after our "tiger" cat TC, who did not make friends very easily with anyone but Topi won her heart quite early and every time the cat saw Topi from our windows, she let us know her friend was passing by our house... in addition to TC along also came a couple of water turtles Dilly and Nelly. It was very comforting to know, that even if we were on holidays abroad, our animals were always looked after so well. Later on after we lost our beloved cat TC and consequently also our turtles to a turtle disease, we got our first Cavalier Chester. Not surprisingly, Topi became one of Chester's favoured friends soon enough. While at work, we could always fully rely on Chester being in safe hands and taken daily out for walks around midday, occasionally even twice if at times we had to work a bit later. A house for cookies was established, so Topi could give a biscuit to Chester each time they came back home from the walk... After the lovely clay Cookie-house was broken, when Chester tried to help himself to some treat while home alone, a cookie jar was placed up on a higher shelf and there it is since, still serving the very same purpose... Girl-friend Chelsea came to keep company to Chester some years later and Topi started to take them both out... and when their daughter Cherie was born quite soon after, Topi managed without any problems to handle immediately 3 dogs outside and so it is, until today because after we lost our dear Chester, Dixie came to stay with us. Our 3 gilrs are as very fond of Topi and he gets along with them all ever so well, even if they are on occasions quite a hand full ! |
